He works in moral philosophy, decision theory, and especially in their intersection: moral decision-making under risk. He is particularly interested in our obligations towards future generations; at the moment, that mostly means population ethics and interpersonal aggregation. He also works on the ethics of artificial intelligence.Before joining NUS in 2026, he was a Senior Researcher in Philosophy at the University of Fribourg, and before that a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Global Priorities Institute, University of Oxford. He completed his DPhil in Philosophy at St John's College, Oxford, in 2022. He also holds a BPhil in philosophy from St Catherine's College, Oxford and a BSc in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Warwick.
</oembed>
