In addition to his Visiting Professor role within the NUS Behavioural and Implementation Sciences Institute, Nick is a Professor of Implementation Science and Patient Safety and Director of the Centre for Implementation Science at King&#8217;s College London, UK (2015 &#8211; Present) and has held academic appointments in the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London, UK (2004 &#8211; 2015).<\/p>\n<p>Nick&#8217;s research vision is to achieve population health and high-quality healthcare delivery through application of psychological and behavioural sciences, and partnership development between stakeholders in academia, health services, charitable organisations and industry. Nick&#8217;s research is situated within the multidisciplinary space of implementation science, improvement science, and applied psychology.<\/p>\n<p>Nick&#8217;s research has been disseminated in over 370 publications and over 120 invited lectures worldwide and has won over numerous awards. Nick serves on the WHO BEsD group (Measuring Behavioural and Social Drivers of Vaccination, 2018 &#8211; Present), on the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain &amp; Ireland and Difficult Airway Society Human Factors and Ergonomics joint Guideline Development Group (2017 &#8211; Present), and as an expert advisor to the UK&#8217;s Safe Anaesthesia Liaison Group (2011 &#8211; Present). After his PhD, he has been a research associate at the Institut Jean Nicod (Ecole Normale Sup\u00e9rieure) in Paris. He worked for the European Commission JRC between 2009-2011. Most recently, he has been a full professor of computational social science and behavioural data science at the Department of Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento. Ivo received a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford. Ivo also worked as a research fellow at University College London,\u00a0a senior lecturer at Imperial College London, and a\u00a0professor at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. He has a track record of research in decision science and behaviour change, which is published in academic journals, book chapters and government reports. Ivo&#8217;s research focuses on developing an integrated theory of behaviour change which combines principles from psychology, neuroscience, and economics. Testing the theory involves developing and evaluating behaviour change interventions in various domains such as health, finance, education, and environment. Ivo is a co-author of the famous UK Cabinet Office MINDSPACE report, which provides a framework for designing effective policy utilising behavioural sciences(it provided the basis for establishing the first &#8216;Behaviour Insight Team&#8217; in government).\u00a0Ivo has helped public and private organisations apply lessons from behavioural science.<\/p>\n<p>Ivo is also recognised among <a href=\"https:\/\/medicine.nus.edu.sg\/news\/nus-medicine-researchers-recognised-among-the-worlds-top-2-most-cited-scientists-in-2025\/\">the world&#8217;s top 2% most-cited scientists in 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"javascript:void(0)\" target=\"_self\"  data-modal=  role=\"button\" aria-label=\"Bio\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBio\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/medicine.nus.edu.sg\/bisi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2026\/02\/2025_Tippi-Headshot.jpg\" alt=\"2025_Tippi Headshot\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"800\" width=\"592\" title=\"2025_Tippi Headshot\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<p><b>Dr Tippi Mak<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Consultant &amp; Head of Vaccine Research Unit<\/strong>, Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>Dr Tippi Mak is head of the new Vaccine Research Unit at the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (VRU@BISI) at NUS, with interests including vaccine acceptance, safety, policy and communication.<\/p>\n<p>She is a Canadian family physician with over 25 years in vaccine development, policy, regulation, programmes, evaluation, pharmacovigilance, in low- to high-income settings, and across government, industry, academic, and community sectors. She has served on various committees and boards.<\/p>\n<p>She was a clinician for five years, including rural Canada, military bases, and at district hospital with ViVa, an NGO in Vanuatu. For four years, she supported WHO at country level offices and WPRO, to strengthen communicable disease control (EPI campaigns, outbreak response, surveillance), and conducted field epidemiological studies for a Swiss helminth research project in rural Lao PDR. She has served as a regular consultant, advisor and trainer for WHO HQ and its committees e.g. GACVS, SAGE for many years. During the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic, she spent three years as a vaccine regulator at Swissmedic, and chaired the National Vaccine Safety committee for EKIF (Swiss ACIP) and HMEC (Swiss CBER). In Singapore, Dr Mak has served at the Health Promotion Board as Senior Deputy Director, as Sanofi&#8217;s Regional Director in public policy and J&amp;J Regional Senior Director during the COVD-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"javascript:void(0)\" target=\"_self\"  data-modal=  role=\"button\" aria-label=\"Bio\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBio\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/medicine.nus.edu.sg\/bisi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2024\/06\/headshot-1.jpg\" alt=\"headshot 1\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"1500\" width=\"1200\" title=\"headshot 1\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<p><strong>Dr Jocelyn Chew<\/strong><\/p>\n<strong>Assistant Professor<\/strong>, Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore<strong><br \/>\nAssistant Professor<\/strong>, NUS Nursing, National University of Singapore<br \/>\n<strong>Assistant Professor<\/strong>, Department for Biomedical Informatics, National University of Singapore<br \/>\n<strong>Clinical Lead<\/strong> (Data Insights Unit), Education &amp; Research Office, National University Health System<br \/>\n<strong>Member<\/strong>, Singapore Association for the Study of Obesity (SASO), an affiliate of the World Obesity Federation\n\t\t\t<p>Dr Chew completed her PhD at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is the youngest nursing PhD holder in Singapore. She is passionate about population health, digital health, and healthcare innovation, having received training in nutrition science, artificial intelligence, and advanced statistics. She is also the first nurse to receive training in the Stanford Biodesign methodology as a Singapore Biodesign Innovation Fellow FY23\/24, which included training in regional and global centers such as Beijing and the United States.<br \/>Dr Chew&#8217;s research focuses on using innovative strategies to promote health behavior change, specifically for cardiometabolic diseases and the upstream problem of obesity. She has developed multiple self-regulation programs including an artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted behavioral prediction and prevention system for personalized weight management. She is a recipient of the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) talent award and has been awarded the NMRC PHRG-NIG to support her research in obesity prevention and management.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Chew has published over 60 internationally peer-reviewed articles of high impact factor and has been awarded more than SDG750,000 worth of research funding. She has presented her research in various conferences globally and has received multiple international awards over the years. Dr Chew also serves as an editor for Scientific Reports and Frontiers in Nutrition, and sits in the Department Ethics Review Committee.<\/p>\n<p>As an educator, Dr Chew teaches research methods both at the undergraduate and PhD levels, emphasizing the importance of innovation.
