The BioIonic Currents Electromagnetic Pulsing Systems (BICEPS) Laboratory bridges state of the art engineering with clinical medicine. Our mandate is to develop novel technologies with which to enhance the function and bioenergetics of muscle as well as of the body’s other immuno-boosting and metabolically important tissues. The emergence of these technologies will, in turn, provide clinicians with tools with which to improve cardiovascular health, stimulate joint regeneration, enhance the oxidation of fatty acids and reduce lipotoxicity, improve central and peripheral nervous system function and slow mental and physical decline in the ill, physically compromised and elderly. To this end, we have recently developed a novel and non-invasive electromagnetic stimulation paradigm that that has been shown in published studies to awaken the body’s natural regenerative drive with as little as 10 minutes of therapy per week. Recently, we have shown that this same electromagnetic therapeutic paradigm can also be exploited to help the body combat cancer, such as breast cancer, colorectal cancer, gastric cancer and prostate cancer, potentially representing a paradigm shift in modern clinical practice, preventative medicine and pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation. Our patented magnetic therapeutic platform is currently being tested in South East Asia and the US in ongoing human clinical trials. Our objective is to help Singapore lead the world in the design and use of such technologies.
