Prof Gopalakrishnakone, together with his team, has in the past decade
isolated and characterized several molecules from novel toxins including
conotoxins, cantoxin, etc. This has put the team and hence, NUS in the
forefront in toxin research internationally.
The novel findings on various toxins by the team will have immense
potentials clinically. The high level of impact of Prof Gopalakrishnakone's
research is clearly attested by the fact that some of the major findings have
been published in leading life science journal, e.g. Journal of Biological
Chemistry that enjoys a very high impact factor.
