Associate Professor Loke Kah Yin
Dept of Paediatrics
Assoc Prof Loke has made significant contributions to Science and Technology,
and was awarded the prestigious Singapore Youth Award in year 2000.
His major area of research was in genetics of inherited adrenal disorders
including congenital adrenal hyperplasia, X-linked adrenal hypoplasia
congenita and pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1a. For this important contribution
in the molecular characterization of the CYP21 gene for congenital adrenal
hyperplasia in Singapore, he was awarded the Haridas Memorial Lecture
and Gold Medal of the Singapore Paediatric Society January 2002. More
recently, his research in autosomal dominant obestity has helped unravel
the biology of weight regulation.
