Research Scholarships

Financial support in the form of research scholarships is available for qualified candidates. Applicants must possess at least a second upper class Honours degree or its equivalent to be eligible for the research scholarship.

Each research scholarship carries a monthly stipend and a full tuition fee subsidy as follows:

Singapore Citizen S$2,500 S$3,000

Research scholars who passed their PhD qualifying examination will receive a PhD top-up of S$500 per month, for up to a maximum of 24 months subject to not more than 48 months of candidature, or up to the Research Scholarship (RS) termination date or RS expiry date, whichever is earlier.

Some additional support for projects in certain strategic research areas is also available. There may also be opportunities for earning additional income as part-time tutors and demonstrators.
