Declaration of Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) Option

Students who wish to opt for S/U graded basis for any module that permits the S/U option must declare their intention during the module registration/add period (Deadline: 15 January 2017 for Cross Faculty Students and 22 January 2017 for NUSMed students). Thereafter, the student's decision will be considered final. Please note that S/U graded module cannot be used towards the student's CAP. NUSMed students who wish to exercise the S/U option should email Ms Geetha Warrier at medgsw@nus.edu.sg. For Cross Faculty students, please indicate your intention to exercise the S/U option in the cross faculty registration form.

Dropping of Modules

Students are advised to take note of the Add/Drop period. For students who wish to drop a module, they must complete the drop module form which can be downloaded from https://myportal.nus.edu.sg/studentportal/med/gr and submit it to Ms Geetha Warrier for processing. Email requests will not be accepted.

Selection of Electives

Students who wish to take modules offered by other Research Institutes/Centres/Faculties should check with the respective Research Institutes/Centers/Faculties for details of the modules. Students may take any of the electives any time and before confirmation as a PhD candidate but the elective modules must be graded and be of at least 2MCs. As electives are meant to improve the students' breadth of knowledge, students should register for their electives only after consultation with and with approval from their supervisors.

Students with Outstanding Bill or Negative Service Indicators

Students who have outstanding bill with the University or Negative Service Indicator (NSI) imposed on their student records may be barred from registering modules offered by the University. In this regard, you are advised to settle your outstanding bill or clear the NSI, if any, with the Office of Financial Services or the Registrar’s Office to avoid having problems with the module registration.

Cancellation of Module Class

The School reserves the right to cancel any module due to insufficient class size. Students will be notified of the cancellation if any, by email.

Reminders to Students

NUSMed students who have not registered for any module towards their coursework are reminded to do so immediately. PhD students who wish to apply for the PhD Qualifying Examination (PQE) should apply for the PQE about 2-3 semesters after meeting the coursework criteria for PhD upgrading. PhD students who do not complete their PQE with 24 months of their enrolment will be asked to downgrade to MSc.
