The Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, plans to offer the
Bachelor of Science (Nursing) program from August 2006. The BSc (Nursing) degree is a 3 year undergraduate course.
Students who have performed well throughout the course and achieved a minimum cumulative average point of 3.5 would
be offered to proceed to the Honours year leading to BSc (Nursing) Honours. |
The course aims to prepare nurses to be safe and competent practitioners. Through the acquisition of adequate cognitive,
affective, and psychomotor knowledge and skills, Registered Nurses develop critical, analytical, and reflective skills
to deliver quality care that will improve patient outcomes. They will be prepared to function independently and
interdependently with other healthcare professionals in various healthcare settings. Therefore, this course provides
a broad foundation in nursing, humanities, biological and social sciences, which are essential for preparing
professional nurses who are capable of practising in a competent and responsible manner. In addition, the programme
is designed to provide a foundation for graduate education in nursing.
