National University of Singapore – Partners Harvard Medical International (NUS – PHMI) Program for Educators
Program Objectives
To enhance the professional development of physicians allied healthcare personnel and basic science teachers as educators of physicians and healthcare professionals.
We have started this residential program since 2004. This program consists of a good balance of five major themes: learning and teaching, curriculum design and process, educational leadership, educational research, assessment principles and strategies. The program provides a select group of participants with the knowledge base and skills required to enhance their expertise in, both, designing and conducting their own educational project and in taking a leadership role in the educational activities of their institutions.
Participants can expect to enhance their knowledge and skills in the selection of best teaching practices that will bring out the best, not only in their students, but also in themselves. The program will enable participants to combine their content expertise with best teaching practices to optimize student learning.
