Muthu K Shanmugam, postdoctoral research fellow from Dr. Gautam Sethi's lab was awarded the Scholar-in-Training Award of US$ 1000 to present and participate in "The 6th International Symposium on Alcoholic liver and pancreatic diseases (ALPD) and Cirrhosis", "From Stem Cells to Global Health" which was held at the Fukuoka International Congress Center, October 20 and 21, 2011, Fukuoka, Japan. The title of the poster is "Suppression of signal transducer and activation of transcription 3 by emodin attenuates the growth of hepatocellular carcinoma in vitro and in vivo".
