Research and Training Opportunities

  • Opportunities to train under guidance of a team of experienced (senior) research and clinical scientists, and to be taught by and work with ophthalmologists.
  • Academic staff involved in the mentoring, where most research/training are based at Singapore Eye Research Institute.
  • Candidates, when feasible, may be taught to develop his or her research project, to write competitive grants to fund the project, and to administer and conduct the research in a timely fashion.
  • Chances to collaborate with clinical ophthalmologists from major ophthalmic institutions in Singapore, including the Singapore National Eye Centre, National University Hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and the Singapore Polytechnic.
  • Opportunities to initiate collaborations with renowned international research institutions.
  • Close integration of clinical and epidemiological research at NUS & SERI provides opportunity to translate basic science discoveries into new diagnostic and treatment modalities.

Stem cells, diabetes, ocular genetics, clinical glaucoma, ocular epidemiology, and more.....


Eligibility

Physicians with a MBBS or equivalent qualification; or scientists with a PhD or equivalent qualification may be considered.
