Written – Paper 1 & 2: Friday, 23 June 2017
OSCE1 – OSCE5: Saturday, 1 July 2017
OSCE6 – OSCE10: Saturday, 8 July 2017


Written Paper 1: 100 Single Best Answer MCQs (2 hrs)

Written Paper 2: Key Feature Problems (KFP) 10 questions (1 hr)

OSCE: 10 stations (3 mins reading & 8 mins assessment)

Eligibility Criteria:

All Candidates applying for the examination MUST have:

  • Undergone and satisfied the training requirements of the GDFM programme offered by the College of Family Physicians, Singapore.
  • A valid BCLS certificate up till 8 July 2017
  • A current and valid practising certificate with SMC up till 8 July 2017

DGMS will check with College after application deadline on the attendance record from CFPS. Candidates are reminded that they need to complete the following before they are eligible to take the GDFM Exam:

  • FMTP Modular Courses (FMMC) includes EIGHT modules, EIGHT tutorials & EIGHT E-learning)
  • THREE Compulsory GDFM Practice Management Courses (inclusive of E-Learning)
  • GDFM Clinical Revision Course (CRC) (Required to complete in the same year which they will be taking the GDFM examination)
  • At least ONE Family Practice Skills Course (FPSC)


Please submit your application via Graduate Admission System (GDA2) by the closing date as stipulated above. A step-by-step guide to applying online can be found here.

A completed application would have fulfilled the following:

  1. all required fields are accurately filled and all supporting documents are uploaded into the system
  2. a unique 10-digit application number is auto-generated by the system (we recommend that you jot down the number for reference)
  3. the non-refundable SGD20 application fee payment is successful and supported by Tax Invoice (also known as the receipt) which is downloadable from the system

A successfully completed application does not indicate a successful placement or admission into the exam. Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained. Applications received through email will not be accepted.

The following documents must be uploaded online into the GDA2 system by the closing date:

  1. Recently taken passport-sized photograph (image has to be 400 x 514 pixels)
  2. Certified true copy of following documents (Official English translations will be required for stamps or certificates sent that are not in English):
  1. NRIC – for locals/permanent resident
  2. Passport & Employment pass – for foreigners (residing in Singapore)
  3. Passport – for foreigners (not residing in Singapore)
  4. Basic medical degree certificate (MBBS)
  5. BCLS certificate (valid till 8 July 2017)
  6. A current and valid practising certificate with SMC (valid till 8 July 2017)

Photocopies of certificates and/or official translations (in English)* including any other official supporting documents will be accepted only if they have been prepared and/or authenticated by one of the following:

  • the issuing University or Medical School;
  • Medical Council of which you are registered and licensed to practice
  • Government Ministries of Health;
  • a notary public or Justice of the Peace;
  • Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS) - For authentication by DGMS office, original certificates and documents must be produced.

* Candidates must submit an authenticated translation if their official supporting documents is not in English. A fresh ink stamp must be used to authenticate the copy or translation of the primary medical qualification.

Candidates whose original documents have been damaged or misplaced must apply to the relevant organizations / authorities for replacements or letters of verification.

DGMS is not obliged to give any reasons for unsuccessful applications. Other respective rules/regulations of DGMS will apply.

  • All fees are subject to changes without prior notice, and must be paid at the time of application

Withdrawal Policy:

Notice of withdrawal from the programme must be given in writing to the Division accompanied by the Tax Invoice (receipt) for fee paid. The entire fee, less application fee, will be refunded when notice of withdrawal is received by Saturday, 13 May 2017.Those who withdraw after this date or who are absent from the exam will not receive any refund of the exam fees.
