The School Graduate ProgrammeThe School of Medicine Graduate Programme is a research oriented programme to train competent biomedical scientists who will spearhead and drive the medical biotechnology efforts in the industry. Students are engaged in supervised research with staff members from any of the departments for their period of candidature, at the end of which, they submit a thesis that is examined by a Board of Examiners. The students will be enrolled into the Graduate Programme at admission and fulfill requirements to graduate either with a generic MSc or PhD degree. There is no specialization of the degrees awarded. Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS)The Division of Graduate Medical Studies was formed initially as a Committee for Postgraduate Medical Studies in 1961. It was subsequently constituted in 1969 as a 'Postgraduate School' responsible to the Senate. The executive body of the School was the Board of the School of Postgraduate Medical Studies, whose membership included representatives from the National University of Singapore, Academy of Medicine and Ministry of Health. In 2002, the Graduate School was re-named the Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS). The main aims of the Division are to promote postgraduate training and education in Singapore; to accredit training programmes; and to offer examinations leading to specialist qualifications. CSI Singapore aims to train the next generation of cancer researchers to excel both in the scientific and translational aspects of cancer research. For this reason, we have introduced a PhD graduate programme in Cancer Biology.

The YLL SoM offers several degrees aiming to provide a training framework to clinical researchers . One of these is the recently launched "Master in Clinical Investigation", tailored to equip the interested clincian with the necessary skills to develop high–quality research while practising as a clincial professional.

The National University of Singapore (NUS), the Novartis Institute for Tropical Diseases (NITD), the Biozentrum of the University of Basel (UoB) and the Swiss Tropical Institute (STI) announce recruitment for a novel, research-based joint M.Sc. programme on approaches to control communicable diseases, particularly vaccinology and drug discovery.
