The National Healthcare-Medical Symposium
Close to 100 like-minded pre-university students participated in the National Healthcare-Medical (NHMed) Symposium held in the first week of June. Into its second year, the symposium allows students who are keen to pursue their career in the healthcare sector to learn more about what being a medical student and doctor encompasses.
International Biomedical Challenge 2014
The winners of the International Biomedical Challenge 2014 toured the Centre of Healthcare Simulation (CHS) located at the Centre for Translational Medicine (CeTM) on 2 June 2014. Other than witnessing a realistic simulated birth delivery, the students also had the opportunity to have hands-on experience with the simulators.
A group of final year medical students initiated a community outreach programme called “Project iBaby” to promote awareness on the prevalence of screen usage in children in the local community, educate the public on the recommended guidelines and provide management strategies on reducing screen usage.
