Integrated Workplace Health Promotion & Staircase Safety improvement program

On 15th May 2008, the Wellness Committee launched a study on how exercise can be conveniently incorporated into our working hours, to help us achieve a healthy level of physical activity.

Many of us find it difficult to make time for regular exercise due to work and family commitments. As a result, we miss out on the benefits of exercise on our physical health and wellbeing.

This study involves the tracking of workplace physical activity level by simple means such as pedometers and an exercise questionnaire. All participants were issued a pedometer each, and readings recorded before and after each work day.

Participants, please remember to submit your pedometer record slips!

  Health and Wellness Committee

The role of the Health and Wellness Committee is to promote health and social wellness in our department. To this end, the committee creates opportunities throughout the year for our staff, students, and even alumni to interact and enjoy each other's company.

Through joint events with the Health and Safety Committee, events are organized to raise health and safety awareness at work. Bolstered by a strong sense of health and wellness, COFM will be better poised to advance public health education, research and policy.
