Change of Department Name - COFM to EPH
We were re-named as the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health from 1 March 2009.
Epidemiology is a well recognized discipline in biomedical research and practice. It reflects a major component of our teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs, and is one sphere where others recognize as an area of expertise and strength in the Department. We are now positioning ourselves to contribute actively in clinical epidemiology within the National University Health System.
Public Health is the generally accepted term to cover our traditional areas of expertise (Community and Occupational Medicine). It also covers new areas of research and education development in the Department, such as health service research, health promotion and global health.
Our internationally recognized work in Occupational Medicine will continue in the department through our well established Centre for Environmental and Occupational Health Research, and WHO Collaborating Centre in Occupational Health. Our Family Medicine colleagues have been repositioned in the Department of Medicine in the National University Health system.

Thank you for your continuing support for the department. We look forward to working with you to achieve health for all in our communities. For more details, follow this link: http://medicine.nus.edu.sg/cof/rename.html
