Program StructureAll candidates complete at least 10 coursework modules (40 credits) and a 4-credit Practicum module, for the degree. Non-medically qualified candidates complete an additional 5 modules to attain a total of 64 credits. Foundation ModuleThe program commences with a compulsory one-week Public Health Biology & Ethics module. Core ModulesAll candidates also complete five modules spanning the core areas in Public Health.
Full-Time ProgramDuring the period of candidature, a full-time student must register for not fewer than three 4-credit modules and not more than five 4-credit modules of study per semester unless the candidate is in his final semester. To complete the program in one year, full-time students should undertake all their core modules during their first semester and register for electives in their second semester. Part-Time ProgramA part-time candidate must enroll for at elast one 4-credit module and not more than three 4-credit modules of study per semester. Cumulative Average Point (CAP)Academic progress is tracked by the CAP, which is the weighted average grade point of all modules taken by the student. The minimum CAP for fulfillment of degree requirements is 3.0, equivalent to a grade of B-. ScheduleModules will be scheduled either as weekday evening sessions ( 6-9 pm once a week) over one semester (15 weeks), or as intensive one-week courses (Monday-Saturday) during the University Vacation terms.
