Clinical Anatomy Workshop for Residents
Graduate Medical Education (which entails the training of Residents in Singapore) is undergoing rapid changes. There is a shift from British-based MRCS and FRCS examinations to America- based Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) system.
Over the years, the Anatomy Department has played a vital role in conducting workshops and revision classes for MRCS as well as FRCS examination, especially in the rapid revision of relevant clinical anatomy, OSCE examination as well as viva-voce. Anatomy Department has also hosted some of these examinations with visiting Royal College examiners.
While this activity is continuing although at a reduced rate, we are embarking on a new initiative of organizing “Clinical Anatomy for Residents” based on the ACGME requirement as well as special examinations like ABSITE, etc.
We have, thus far, organized 2 workshops so far on “Clinical and Surgical Anatomy for Residents”. Based on the feedback from the participating residents as well as the lecturers, the workshops have been very successful and are highly appreciated by the PGY1 and PGY2 Residents where basic sciences are crucial as well as the OSCE examination.
We are also organizing generic workshops for 3- 5 days covering the entire anatomy for the Surgical Residence, and customized workshops of 2-3 days for Orthopaedic Resident, O & G Residents, Anaesthesia Residents, or 1-2 days workshops for ENT, EYE, etc.
Program Directors from various hospitals can contact us for more details. If any residents want to register directly for a specific workshop also can also contact us.
