Research Interests
  • Medical Education
    Under this sector, the main emphasis is on developing novel methods of anatomy teaching by means of models that demonstrate fundamental and key concepts of human anatomy and models that are functionally competent to show how the various anatomical structures work.
  • Human Cadaveric Anatomy
    In this regard, the main research focus is on dissecting and investigating variations in the structural anatomy of human organ systems which have implications in clinical and surgical anatomy.
Current Projects
  • A study on the application of model-based teaching in enhancing the learning of anatomy by medical students has been just completed.
    Grant: CDTL funded Teaching Enhancement Grant on the project entitled: “Enhancing the learning of anatomy for the doctors of tomorrow: Strong foundations, safe hands”. Period: 2010-2011
  • NUHS Leadership in Academic medicine Mentorship (NLAM) award to develop novel methods in student assessment.
  • Academic Medicine Development Award (AMDA) by NUHS for FY2012.
